Woman mistreated by two others in Crawley street

Police in Crawley are seeking witnesses after a young woman was attacked and mistreated by two other women in a street.

Between 7pm and 8.30pm on Thursday 24 June a particularly vulnerable 21-year-old woman was put into a shopping trolley in Springfield Road, Crawley by two other women of similar age and was pushed to the entrance of Goffs Park. The three are known to each other.

She got free there and ran towards the level crossing in Horsham Road at the junction of Springfield Road but could not get across as the barriers were closed. The two suspects got hold of her again and pulled her back to the park, where they left her.

“At the time of this incident there were several vehicles waiting at the level crossing. If you were there or nearby and saw anything of what happened, perhaps without realising what was going on, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1632 of 24/06.”
