Teenage boy suffers fractured eye socket after assault in Tilgate, Crawley

A boy has suffered facial injuries after an assault in Crawley.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was walking with another teenager on playing fields off Gainsborough Road, Tilgate around 4.15pm on Thursday (July 25).

The pair were approached by a group of around 11 teenagers before one of them punched the victim in the face.

The victim suffered a fractured eye socket and was taken to hospital.

The suspect is described as a white boy, in his late teens, 6’, of medium build, with brown hair and facial stubble.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or saw a group of teenagers acting suspiciously in this area at this time is asked to report information online or by calling 101.


Two men wanted after 20-year-old Crawley man viciously attacked in Ifield



Police are searching for two suspects after a man was attacked in Crawley.

At 2pm on Thursday (10 September) the 20-year-old local man was walking his dog by Ifield Mill Pond when he was approached by a man who demanded his mobile phone. When this was refused the man punched and kicked him before running away with a second man when passers-by shouted at him.

The victim sustained facial and leg injuries for which he needed hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as black, 19/20 years, 6′, of stocky build, wearing a plain black hoody with hood up and black face mask, black tracksuit trousers and black trainers.

Detective Inspector Cheryl Lewendon said:

“This was a random and vicious attack. The motive was robbery but the suspect clearly didn’t expect the response of the young man or the attention of passers-by.”
