Sex on the Gatwick Express – investigation launched by Police



It’s not quite the romantic image brought on by films such as Risky Business but the British Transport Police were alerted to reports of a couple “engaging in sexual activity” on the Gatwick Express last Thursday night (August 10th).

The train was the 9pm service from London Victoria and BTP are now appealing for witnesses.

BTP said: “We are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an allegation of a couple engaging in a sexual activity on a Gatwick Express train.

“The incident was reported to the BTP shortly before 9.30pm on Thursday, August 10. Anyone who was on the 9pm service from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport and saw what happened is urged to get in touch by sending a text to 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 606 of 10/08/2017.”

Manhunt after attempted robbery at knifepoint at Ifield newsagents in Crawley



A man who attempted to rob a newsagents in Ifield is being hunted by police.

The alarm was raised at 7.17am on Tuesday (September 3) when the man went in McColl’s in Ifield Parade, threatened staff with a knife and demanded money.

However, he was driven from the shop empty-handed.

He is described as black or west Asian, in his mid-30s, 5′ 10″, of slim or skinny build and was wearing a face covering, grey hooded top, black gloves, black trousers and black shoes or trainers.

Police have taped up the entrance around the shop and two officers are standing guard at the scene.

A visibly shaken staff member could be seen talking to shoppers as concern grows over the number of incidents taking place at other shops across the town.

Police confirmed there have been no physical injuries but would could not confirm if any suspect/s had been taken into custody.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw someone of that description in the area at the time is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 263 of 03/09
