Search for £50k stolen Jewelry in Crawley burglary



Police in Crawley are searching for £50,000 of gold jewellery stolen in a burglary.

The jewellery was stolen when a house in Burlands, Crawley, was broken into between 11.15pm and 12.45pm on Wednesday 16 June.

The haul included gold rings, bangles, earrings, and brooches.

Detective Constable Paul Hudson said;

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area on 16 June.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who has been offered this any of this jewellery (pictured).

“If you have any information please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 0688 of 16/06.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”


41-year-old man arrested in Crawley after reports of threats made with knife



Police responded to a report of a man with a knife making threats inside a property at Wren Court, Tilgate Way, Crawley at 10.45am on Thursday (15 July).

Officers attended and safely detained the suspect, a 41-year-old man. No injuries have been reported. 

Chief Inspector Shane Baker; District Commander for Crawley said:

“We are thankful to the public for their patience and understanding while this incident was ongoing.

“During this incident, a distraction device was used, which may have caused some alarm and disruption to residents.

“We would like to assure the public that nobody was harmed and there is not believed to be any ongoing threat to the local community at this time.”
