Pets Corner announces new site as work begins on new industrial development next to Crawley

Construction is underway at industrial warehouse development, Tungsten Park, south of Crawley, following the pre-sale of one of its planned units to Pets Corner.



Acting on behalf of Tungsten Properties, commercial property consultants, Vail Williams LLP, together with joint agent SHW, were appointed to market the 83, 965 sq.ft development to secure occupiers to kick-start the scheme in 2019.

The pre-sale agreement with Pets Corner will see it acquire a 43,000 sq.ft. unit at the Park, which began construction in January and is due to complete in Q3 2019.

Stephen Oliver, partner at Vail Williams’ Gatwick office, said:

“We are pleased to have assisted Tungsten in marketing their development to potential occupiers, like Pets Corner, who are seeking opportunities for high quality industrial and warehouse property in the area.” 

Pets Corner was looking for a strategically positioned facility, close to good transport links which could meet not only their building specification, but also their ethical business values.

Simon Forest, Property Director at Pets Corner, said:

“We have been looking for a suitable freehold warehouse facility for about five years and were surprised by the real lack of opportunities in this part of Sussex.

“Most developers sadly seem more interested in building houses but businesses like ours need to be able to grow and provide jobs for the people who will be living in those houses. Fortunately, with the help of Vail Williams and SHW, we were able to secure our building off plan and we look forward to taking possession later this year.’’

With planning for a variety of units ranging from 13,000-83,960 sq.ft., Tungsten Park will begin phase 2 of development later in 2019.

Jeff Penman, Managing Director at Tungsten Properties, concluded:

“We are delighted to welcome Pets Corner as a pre-sale to our Handcross scheme, which due to a dearth of industrial/warehouse supply in the Mid-Sussex area, followed an extensive search to find a suitable site.”

Three additional units, ranging from 10,000-20,000 sq ft, remain available for either pre-let or pre-sale opportunities.

Tungsten Park is prominently located adjacent to the A23/M23 just south of Crawley and provides great visibility, profile and access to the A23/M23 and national motorway network.

Access to the site is from a newly formed side road from the Warninglid A23 junction providing access both north and south.


B&M to open on 13th April in County Mall Crawley and there are jobs available!

It will be the second B&M store for the town and will open in the former BHS site.



It will certainly be a welcome boost to the local economy as a brand new store opens in the town.

Opening at 9am on Saturday 13th April, more than 50 jobs are being created.

A spokesperson from B&M said:

“We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in the a few weeks.”

Job roles are now advertised on the B&M careers website and range from sales assistant, to floor managers and cleaners.
