Leader of Crawley Borough Council seeks assurances from new Prime Minister in letter

Mr Lamb did not hold back on his views in the letter sent last Friday (26th July).

Boris Johnson may have only just started his time as PM but he is already under fire and being questioned on what actions he is going to be taken following his promises made during his campaigning.

One of those questioning him is Crawley’s very own Leader of the Council Peter Lamb.

In a letter penned last week he asks Mr Johnson for assurances on his spending committments whilst also questioning remarks which Mr Lamb says are ‘abhorrent views’.

The letter finishes with questions over proposed cuts to taxes on company profits and high earners pointing out the state of child poverty in the town and across the country.

The letter is a very public reminder that Mr Johnsons appointment was not a public decision and that already he will have to contend with a very confused and desperate country that just wants actions and not words. Only time will tell.
