Family pay tribute to murdered Crawley man



The family of a man who sadly died after being struck by a car following a fight in Brighton have paid tribute to him.

Suel Miguel Monteiro Delgado, 20, from Crawley, suffered serious head injuries in the incident in Marine Parade at 5.20am on Sunday (1 December).

He succombed to his injuries and died in hospital.

His family said:

“Suel was a beloved son, brother and friend. He always took care of his family and he will be sadly missed.”

Detectives from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team have launched a murder investigation after officers were initially called to a report of a large group of people fighting on the seafront early on Sunday.

As they responded, it was reported that three of the group had then been struck by a car.

The two other victims an 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, who were also seriously injured, remain in a serious condition in hospital.


Class A drugs found and dustman injured as police search for suspects following Crawley car chase



A dustcart crew member sustained a minor injury after a car being chased by police collided with a bin lorry this afternoon (21st Jan).

The incident happened in Patrington Close, Crawley.

Police were responding to a car that was behaving suspiciously in Jewel Walk, Crawley earlier in the day.

When police tried to stop the vehicle it made off resulting in a police pursuit.

After a short chase the vehicle collided with a bin lorry in Patrington Close, Crawley.

The occupants made off on foot and police say enquiries are ongoing to locate them.

About 50 wraps of substances suspected to be Class A drugs were discarded during the foot chase.
