Crunch time for Crawley bar as application for 24 new apartments could mean its closure

Bar 7, which operates out of a site on Pegler Way, is hopeing that a planning application will get rejected.

Ten 1 bed flats and fourteen 2 bed flats. That’s the number of apartments being proposed to the planning council tomorrow (12th March) at county hall.

The application made by Clifford Tee & Gale Limited on behalf of their client has been described by some residents as ‘hideous’ whilst one business who would be thrown out of their current venue has called for people to sign a petition calling for it to be rejected.

Bar 7, which describes itself at being at the heart of the LGBTQ community for Crawley, Horsham, Gatwick, Horley and Redhill, is worried that if the planning application is accepted then the only LGBT venue between London and Brighton will be no more.

Plans available on Crawley councils website show the design that has been proposed but more questions about parking and access have been raised.

Bar 7 launched a petition against the application here.
