Crawley man arrested after two police officers assaulted during arrest for criminal damage in Northgate



A Crawley man has been arrested after police responded to a disturbance at an address in Five Acres, Crawley, shortly after 6pm on Wednesday 6 July.

The man is reported to have destroyed a mobile phone belonging to a woman known to him.

Officers attended and a 57-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

During the arrest, two police officers were assaulted and the suspect was subsequently further arrested for two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

He has been released on conditional bail until 23 September, pending further enquiries.


13-year-old girl requires hospital treatment after attack by teenagers in Southgate, Crawley

A young teenage girl has been left with an injury to her face after she endured an attack in Southgate, Crawley.

The 13-year-old girl was walking along Barrington Road when she was assaulted by two teenage girls.

The attack happened on Sunday (2nd Aug) around 5:30pm.

Police said that it is understood that all the girls were known to each other.

As a result of the attack the victim sustained an injury to her face and had to go to hospital for treatment.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to report online or call 101 quoting serial 1147 of 02/08.
