Crawley has best Bus Depot in the country

Metrobus’ Crawley depot has taken the gold in the Top National Bus Depot award at the prestigious UK Bus Awards in London today.

Metrobus' Chris Leach (Engineering Manager) and David Wolfe (Assistant Operations Manager)

The Top National Depot category, sponsored by Personal Group, recognises bus depots that provide an outstanding service and are truly committed to their customers, communities and employees. Only eight bus depots from across the United Kingdom reached the final.

Metrobus’ Managing Director Martin Harris said both awards were well deserved.

“It’s a great result for all our colleagues at Metrobus’ Crawley Depot and recognition of their constant dedication to delivering great customer service for every bus journey.”

The judges were impressed with Crawley depot’s overall performance, from how the company looks after and rewards its employees, through to its investment in depot facilities and its increased community outreach.

Mark Yexley, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards, said:

“Metrobus’ Crawley depot has an enviable reputation for quality, investment and customer service. It’s great to see innovations in new technology too.

“We would like to congratulate Crawley depot on its remarkable success. Well done from everyone at the UK Bus Awards.”

Metrobus was also awarded the bronze in the Top Shire Operator category sponsored by Ticketer, which recognises bus companies that provide an outstanding service and are truly committed to customers and employees.

Crawley depot won the Top National Depot title back in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The silver award for Top National Depot went to Stagecoach East Scotland for its St Andrews depot, and bronze went to Go South Coast – Southern Vectis’ Newport, Isle of Wight depot.
