Crawley College students give the gift of Christmas to those in need

Hair and beauty students and staff at Crawley College have been spreading some Christmas joy.

They have been collecting donations of toys and gifts at The Salon, Crawley College’s commercial training hair salon, and have gathered around 100 presents, to date.

The gifts have been donated to the Salvation Army as part of its Christmas Present Appeal and will be given to families in need.

Olivia Meadows, salon manager said:

“We have been absolutely amazed at the generosity shown by the students and staff at the college.

“It’s been such a difficult year for everyone, so it is great to be able to spread a little happiness where we can.

“The gifts had to go off to the Salvation Army last week, but we are still receiving more donations which we plan to give to the children’s ward at East Surrey Hospital.”

Crawley school film and release an actual movie for their year 6 leavers

It is an amazing way to celebrate the end of their students journey as they head to secondary school.

Assistant head Mr Chris McGivern of St Margaret’s CE Primary School said:

“The students and staff have all worked INCREDIBLY hard to create an actual film, nearly 50 minutes long!”

It took the students months to make and they celebrated by having a premiere at Crawley’s Cineworld.
