Conversation in local carpark inspires amazing national campaign

From Me to You,
a wonderful project encouraging us to write letters to friends with cancer, was dreamt up in a Crawley carpark.
Alison Hitchcock wrote over 100 letters to her friend, Brian Greenley, when he was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer.
Their inspiring story was captured by BBC’s Listening Project when its recording booth visited St Catherine’s Hospice car park.
The 2 friends were so touched by the amazing response of the BBC production team, they decided to start a campaign to encourage us all to keep in contact with sick friends.
‘Cancer makes you feel very disconnected,’ said Brian, now 4 years clear. ‘Alison’s letters reconnected me with the real world. And from the letters a life-long friendship has developed.’
From Me to You  run letter writing workshops, speak at events and host writing tips and inspiring stories on their website.
On Monday 16th January, Alison will be talking about how you can be involved in the project on BBC Radio Sussex mid morning show with Danny Pike.
