BREAKING NEWS: HMV Crawley to close in 1 week

The dramatic decision for the quick closure has come as a shock to both the employees and the customers.

At the beginning of Feb ’19 it was announced that HMV was to close 27 of their stores after Sunrise Records bought 100 stores out of administration.

But in that list of closures Crawley was never mentioned.

Now it appears that is no longer the case as staff were informed yesterday of the intention to close the store in just over 1 weeks time, closing on the 9th March.

Only a couple of days ago it was announced that six of the stores that had recently been closed were now re-opened following negotiations with landlords over the rent on those premises.

But despite this news there has still been no plan to reinvigorate the business and without a clear strategy moving forward it is unclear how HMV will be able to cope with online still paving the way forward for multi-media and technology sales.

A spokesperson from HMV and Sunrise Records was not available for comment.
