The Fire Brigade were called on Sunday (8 April) to tackle a moped ablaze in Maunsell Park, Three Bridges. Although the cause of the fire is currently unknown, some residents believe that this was an act of arson and are questioning whether there are gangs operating in the area.

The moped remained unused outside the flats since January when it was allegedly linked to a drug dealing incident in which people were arrested.

One Crawley resident, Rob recalls a time earlier this year when two people appeared to be attempting to steal the moped:

“These individuals (see photo below) tried to take the moped… on the afternoon of the 6th of January. They made off when challenged.

“It was reported to Police. The Mercedes that the males were driving had been of interest to them for several days. I was informed by officers later that day that the vehicle had been stopped, drugs seized and persons arrested.”
