Drone deployed as search & rescue specialists scour Crawley for missing man

There will be a heightened police presence in Crawley today (Friday 10 July) as the search for missing man Milton Andrla continues.

The 60-year-old was last seen in the town about 10am on Monday 15 June, when he told family he was going to the doctors. However, he failed to attend his scheduled appointment and there are increasing concerns for his welfare.

Sussex Police officers, assisted by Sussex Search and Rescue, and Search Dogs Sussex, will be scouring the area for any signs of Milton’s whereabouts. A police drone will also be deployed.

Milton is believed to have taken a rucksack and sleeping bag with him when he left the house, and police are urging the local community to check any sheds or outbuildings in case he has sought refuge there.

Detective Sergeant Alan Fenn from the West Sussex Missing Persons team, said:

“We’ve arranged for specialist search and rescue teams to assist in our search of Milton, who has been missing for almost a month now.

“His family are desperately worried about him, and we’re urging anyone who sees him or has urgent information about him to dial 999, quoting serial 701 of 15/06.

“Milton, if you are reading this, please get in touch to let us know you are safe.”

Milton is described as white with grey hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki cargo shorts with a khaki t-shirt and black trainers.
