20-year-old Crawley man in serious condition after stabbing in Horsham

Police are seeking witnesses to a fight in Horsham town centre in which a man was stabbed.

At about 9pm on Friday (1 November) a fight took place involving several men in Bishopric, Horsham, outside the Lynd Cross pub.

A 20-year-old man from Crawley sustained a stab wound to his body and was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life threatening.

A 55-year-old Crawley man was arrested on suspicion of affray and is in custody for interview and further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Cheryl Lewendon said; “The investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are currently being made to trace other people suspected of being involved in the fight.

“If you were in Horsham town centre on Friday evening and saw anything of what happened,or have any further information, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Evesham.”

“At this stage the Lynd Cross pub does not appear to have been directly involved in the incident, but it was a prominent and identifiable location directly outside which it took place.”

Teenage boy stabbed in stomach in Horsham skatepark

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was stabbed during an attempted robbery in Horsham skatepark on Monday evening (21 October).

The 16-year-old victim suffered a wound to his stomach after he was approached by a youth who tried to take his jacket.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton at about 7.40pm. His injury is not believed to be life threatening.

A man aged 19 was also punched in the face several times during the incident.

He was also taken to hospital. The suspect is described as wearing a black balaclava, black tracksuit and black gloves.

Detective Inspector Dave Payne said:

“We are still trying to establish the circumstances and we are looking for the suspect who fled the scene. If anyone witnessed this or has any information please contact us.

“We have officers and PCSOs in the area of the skate park and in North Parade. Please speak to them if you have any concerns or can help with the investigation.”
