A local lady who was sadly bereaved by the death of her mother after she was brutally murdered in 2018 has made the brave move of turning a tragic event into a positive by launching a charity.

Caroline Snowling is setting up Hannah’s Wings in order to help victims bereaved by murder.

She said: “I know from first hand experience the massive lack of emotional and financial support available from government. I intend to offer a platform via our charity and website that offers support, advice and financial contributions where possible.”

The charity is in partnership with a Christian Church who are offering their ministers to conduct funeral services for free if they come via Hannah’s Wings.

Caroline, along with her family, are in County Mall today (8 August), Friday 10 August and next Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 4.30pm, raising funds in aid of Hannah’s Wings.

They’re also promoting an event run for the charity too, which is being held at Fort Fun.

The VIP charity event at Eastbourne’s Fort Fun takes place on Wednesday 15 August from 6.30pm-9pm. The majority of the sales will go straight to Hannah’s Wings; admission includes the Splash Park, Teacup and Carousel Ride, Bouncy Pillow, Crazy Golf, Bouncy Slide, Sand Play, Imagination Role Play Village, Outdoor Jungle Gym, Ball Game Court and more.

Also available at an extra cost is face painting, balloon modelling, candy floss and a café.

Tickets can be purchased on Hannah’s Wings’ Facebook page or at one of the shopping centre stands. Message the Facebook page for more information.

Hannah’s Wings has a GoFundMe page, which contains links to the many national TV interviews booked to raise awareness about the charity.

Caroline said:

“We have a lot of National and local media interested including, BBC, ITV, Sky News, The Sun, The Irish Post just to name a few.

“Our website is in the making any support would be appreciated.”

Caroline adds: “We shall be fundraising in all different types of ways from fun days, raffles, race nights and more!”
